Diary Twelve: November 23, 2025

App Launch: Starting the Code Journey!

The coding journey has officially begun! Tonight was our first dedicated meeting to kick off the big app creation project. We decided the best way to tackle this was to get out of the library and meet up at my friend’s house. It was a great, comfortable setting, and having her romantic partner there added a really supportive and positive vibe to the group. This picture was taken late in the evening, right when the serious planning started. You can see the determination in our eyes and maybe a little bit of tiredness! We spent the first few hours just laying the groundwork: defining the app’s purpose, discussing the target audience, and making a huge list of all the features we want to include. It felt overwhelming at first, but slowly, things started to click into place.

We specifically focused on sketching out the initial flow and design. What makes our app unique? How do we make the user experience (UX) intuitive and friendly? There were so many great ideas flying around! It was amazing to see how quickly we could generate solutions when we were all focused in the same room. We ended the session with a clear set of tasks for the upcoming week. It feels great to transition from just talking about the project to actually starting the development process. Moments like these working late with friends on something challenging and creative—are what I’ll really remember from school. Wish us luck for the coding sprints ahead!
